Ready or not: Which am I? 2

ready-or-notROFLMAO at myself.

It’s been almost 17 months since I posted Consistency in business building is one of our greatest challenges and this will be my first blog post since that one. I have numerous “commercial” web properties and the most recent post on all of them is over 7 months ago.

Can you guess whether or not my online endeavors are doing very well?

There are what seems like a million different reasons for my lack of sincere effort, but I’m just going to chalk it up to the simple fact that I apparently wasn’t ready to be an internet star yet.

Forget about life’s problems, big or small, beating me down.

Forget about the lack of discretionary income which prevents me from doing much, if any, paid advertising to promote certain properties which could benefit majorly from paid ads.

Forget about the state of disorganization and complete lack of direction that I’ve lived in most of my life.

Forget about “shiny object syndrome” which pulls you from one unfinished project to another and gets you nowhere.

Forget about whatever fears paralyze me from moving forward, whether I’m afraid of failing, succeeding, embarrassing myself, or whatever.

Sure, there may be some deep seated psychology issues for who I am and how I am.

Forget all of that crap.

The bottom line, IMO, is that I simply wasn’t ready to do it or to even really put forth any serious effort to get started.

In all honesty, I can’t even say that I’m really ready now.

Just in case I am actually ready, here is what I will be working on this year:

I will be working on finishing and promoting about a half dozen locally geared sites targeting viewers in my region. These sites are being monetized in different ways. Some will use contextual advertising such as Adsense. Others will use traditional affililate products sold via the affiliate networks. Others will contain paid advertising from local merchants. Naturally, some of the sites may have a mix of monetizing methods.

I have a work at home site that was decimated by spammers and has been mostly idle for several years now. If I start to experience some success, I will get that site back up and running. Otherwise, it will continue to stay stagnant.

I have some offline plans as well, but for the sake of this post, they are irrelevant.

A posting schedule still needs to be worked out for the various sites, but I figure I should at least be posting here weekly if I am truly serious.

This post is being created just because I felt the need to post something, even if nobody is listening at this point.. πŸ™‚

Throughout the year, I’ll be able to look back on this and either see it as the turning point in my online career or as a haunting reminder that, once again, I was not ready.

Well, ready or not…. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.

[…] laugh when I was saving a draft of this article and noticed I already had one with a similar title, Ready or not: Which am I? That was posted in January 2014. Apparently, I wasn’t ready yet because I only had 24 posts […]

Hello Chris,

A few months ago, someone said I am a sleeping giant.

I wonder what kind of popular expression would fit you. πŸ™‚

There is an expression we used to describe ourselves a few months ago, but I’ll refrain from using it here.

I do hope you are ready to focus on whatever will make you successful. An Internet star? You have the intelligence for it, imho.
