Late last evening I was chatting on Skype with a friend and I made an off-the-cuff remark labeling our chats as “wasted time”.
He and I both claim to have entrepreneurial aspirations.
I know I’ve been dreaming of being successful since I was a teenager. He claimed he started dreaming of being on the NY Times Best Seller list at about the age of 20.
Between the two of us, that’s around 50 years of daydreaming combined.
We started chatting online March 16th, 2012. Another 2 1/2 years of claiming we want to accomplish something special with almost no action to put us on the path to getting it done.
Although it’s very frustrating to look back on a life essentially unlived, the great thing is that as long as our heart and brain are still functioning, we can right the ship and chase our dreams.
Life is short. Live it.
If you aren’t happy with your life, start taking the steps needed to turn it around.
Personally, I’ve only recently begun emerging from a very dark period in my life. While I was still daydreaming of great things from time to time, I had let life beat me down so badly that I was barely existing.
Rebooting this blog is one part of the process I’m going through to jumpstart myself back to life.
As time goes by, I’ll be posting about the other parts of this process I’m going through to actually start living life again.
Just remember this. Opportunity doesn’t just knock once. It is constantly beating on your door.
Whether it’s an opportunity to simply experience something new or an opportunity to make a major improvement in your life, opportunity is always there.
Just answer the damn door. 🙂
